New England NEOA would like to announce that Michael E. Capuano 8th District, Massachusetts and Chellie Pingree 1st District, Maine have joined bill HR2306 that was written by Barney Frank.  This bill would remove marijuana from Federal control allowing states to legalize it all together.

NENEOA has and will remain strong on our stance that any type of legalization of marijuana is not acceptable.

Dear NENEOA Members,

Please reach to your U.S. Senators this week and ask them to sign onto a Byrne JAG funding support letter being circulated in the Senate by Senators Cantwell (D-Washington) and Grassley (R-Iowa).

The Cantwell-Grassley letter urges the Senate Appropriations Committee to preserve funding for Byrne JAG.  Getting as many senators as possible to sign their names to the letter is very important over the next week.

Simple message, simple task:  Send an email  or pick up the phone and dial your favorite staff person – or the senator directly – and ask them to sign onto the Cantwell-Grassley Byrne JAG support letter.

Thank you for your efforts – and please keep the NENEOA (neneoa@comcast.net  posted on any responses you get from your contacts in your U.S. Senators’ offices.

Starting April 6, 2011 the New England Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association will be conducting a fundraiser in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.   New England N.E.O.A. has registered in these states.  The Solicitation registration is on file with the Attorney Generals Office in each one of the listed states.

The solicitors are not soliciting on behalf of any local Police Department, State or Federal Police agency.

On behalf of the members of N.E.N.E.O.A. we would like to thank you for your continued support for the past 41 years.
